The best resource in any organization is your team. As leaders, it is our responsibility to help our teams to understand not only where they fit in and how well they are doing, but to remind them of what is required of them in order for them to run effectively within your organization. Give your team what they need versus what they want. By doing this, you are ensuring long term that they will be successful not only for your organization but, for themselves. Shape them to become better leaders than you currently are yourself. Have the difficult conversations when needed. Add value to your team. Do not tell them what they want to hear, but rather, tell them what they need to hear with love, compassion and empathy.
