Description

A proud and unyielding advocate for the unheard voices of Elbert County, Ally shines a light on the injustices, especially of race and gender, still very prevalent in rural communities. In episode 11, we dive into her work in social justice with the Methodist Church, the Non-profit BFG and her 15 years as a choral director and educator in a Title 1 school. She takes us through the challenges of facing fierce resistance from parents, school administrators and community members to incorporate cultural awareness and social-emotional learning in her classroom to the point of violent threats. Despite that, Ally continues to support the underserved, both financially and culturally, in Elbert County making direct impact through education, ministry and philanthropy.
