Ask any Watford based musician about their memories of the Watford music scene during the noughties and they will undoubtedly mention The Horns. It became a local institution and not only hosted world famous and world class musicians but often went out of its way to support and provide a platform to galvanise young local talent.
In todays episode i'm thrilled to catch up with the man behind this iconic music venue - Denis Cook.
We discuss his younger days, to understand how music changed his life as well as a deep dive into everything that happened at The Horns during his tenure. Theres some lovely anecdotes about Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) Georgie Fame and Chas n Dave and the episode brings back some beautiful memories.
Denis has in recent years drawn together these memories plus many more from his 79 years into a fascinating memoir. If you'd like to read this - send me an email, as Denis is more than happy to pass on a digital copy.
