When 11 year-old Quincy (Omar Epps) meets girl-next-door Monica (Sanaa Lathan) on the basketball court he’s shocked to discover that a girl can play ball as well as he does.
Monica is competitive and emotional; Quincy is talented and arrogant. The only thing they seem to agree on is their total commitment to basketball. Over the years their love/hate relationship changes from rivalry to friendship, eventually blossoming into first love. But as their paths to sports stardom diverge and threaten to tear them apart, can they find a way to love each other and basketball?
