A career journey that started at Disney and moved to Warner Music that defies the ‘boring accountant’ stereotype. In this weeks episode Michael talks with Hannah Powell a Finance Manager at Warner Music Group. Hannah started as an accounts assistant but has since climbed the ladder and she shares her experience on her academic path and how it set the stage for her accounting career. Episode spoiler: not all accountants are boring!  If you’re curious about what a career in the accounting world looks like at some of the world’s biggest entertainment companies, Hannah will dive into the diverse career paths that are possible in accounting, the different professional bodies, and teach us on how we can understand the nuances between financial and management accountancy. 

WHO AM I?

In a nutshell, I coach Consultants, Advisors & Accountants through successful career transitions. I do this by helping them gain increased self awareness in their interests, skills, values and network and build a comprehensive action plan to allow then to achieve their goals. Roughly 3.3 billion people in the world have a job. How many people do you think love their job? Various studies when conducted report that only a staggering 20% people actually love their current role. It's no surprise then that so many people including myself have experienced the 'Quarter Life Crisis' described as a period of uncertainty & questioning that typically occurs when people feel trapped, uninspired and disillusioned during their mid-20s to early 30s.
