Coach Tyler Perry takes us through his incredible journey before donning the Gorman “G.” Originally from Missouri, Coach Perry fell in love with wrestling early on—and his passion soon inspired his entire family to embrace the sport. Though a gifted athlete on the football field, Tyler’s path eventually led him to the mat, and later, even to the world of mixed martial arts.
But when the time came to choose, wrestling won his heart. His talent earned him what every athlete dreams of—a Division I opportunity at the University of Missouri. In the legendary Mizzou wrestling room, his passion deepened, and “Tiger Style” became a part of who he is.
Now in Las Vegas, Coach Perry has transformed from competitor to mentor, bringing that same intensity and heart to the Gorman wrestling program. He opens up about his coaching journey, the moments that shaped him, and the triumphs and tragedies that define the man behind the “G.”
