Over the past 2 weeks I have been laying out the ministry and mission of the church as I see it described in the New Testament.
Week 1: Equipping the saints for the work of the ministry
- We don’t want to be merely hearers of the Word we want to do what it says.
- Equipping comes from preaching and teaching the Word of God. (2 Tim. 3:16-17 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
- There are no menial tasks in the kingdom of God: Everything is done as unto the Lord
Week 2: Saints on a Mission
- Ministry without a Mission is pointless and short-lived
- Our mission is God’s mission: And God’s mission was to send his Son into the world, who then sent His Spirit into the world, who now sends His Church into the world.
Our short-term mission
Easter: We are believing for at least 500 people to join us over 2 services 9 and 11 on Sunday March 31st.
Egg-stravaganza: Saturday before Easter we will be doing our egg hunt in Madison at 10am for the community. But this year we will also be reaching out to the community of Bingham and doing an egg-hunt there at 2pm.
