To help us with that, we sit down with the world’s most experienced Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) physician, the amazing Dr. John Lipman, MD, FSIR. As the leading provider and owner of the Atlanta Fibroid Center in Smyrna, Georgia, he has performed over 10,000 uterine fibroid embolization procedures, a non-surgical option for treating uterine fibroids.
Board-certified and Harvard and Yale-trained, and as a volunteer instructor at the esteemed Morehouse School of Medicine, Dr. Lipman is not just a doctor: he’s a physician on a mission. He maintains a strong presence in the African American health community, joining the fight to ensure awareness of alternative treatment options to the nation’s most medically underserved demographic: African American women.
He talks to us about growing up in a medical family in Rochester, New York, why he chose to enter the field of women’s health and educates us on the multi-BILLION-dollar industry involving unnecessary hysterectomies.
