Heeeey guys! Welcome to Episode 7 of Coinology: The Podcast. On today’s episode, we welcome incomparable pioneer, ‘King’ Jay Morrison. Jay Morrison exemplifies what it truly means to be a pioneer and visionary for the culture. He is the creator of the Tulsa Real Estate Fund, which to date, has raised over $11.5 million dollars, owner of the TREF Legacy Center (Atlanta’s premiere event, production, and networking space), and is a Financial Literacy expert.
Jay speaks transparently with us today about growing up in poverty in Summerville, New Jersey, being raised by a single mother (who was only 17 years old when she gave birth to him), how he culturally educated his high school peers, and the heartbreak he experienced after a promising future in basketball came to a screeching halt due to personal issues at home. Jay credits his mother as being the beacon to showing him what it took to bring that ingrained hustler mentality to the forefront. Jay also highlights being mentored by that was already ingrain learned financial literacy through being a street entrepreneur.
‘King’ Jay Morrison truly inspires us though his spirituality, dedication to empowering the black dollar through financial literacy, and through business intentionality. This episode will do more than inspire: it will ignite your entrepreneurial fire. Grab your pen, paper and maybe your favorite cocktail and get ready for an intimate conversation with The Certified Deal Closer, Ebony Porter-Ike and her guests, as she begins her journey to redefine the definition of The Talented Tenth. Originally coined by W.E.B. DuBois, in the 20th century, Ebony Porter-Ike is on a mission to discover the DNA and success factors required to elevate the African American race to its highest potential in business.
