In this week’s episode John and Bryan continue their conversation with Anthony Mosley, VanDyk Mortgage Regional Manager, and coach with Hero Nation. This week the men talk to Anthony about how someone goes about making the decision to hire a career coach, and how it is an important first step – and personal investment – in starting their own business.
Anthony discusses how Loan Officers who first get into the business, often look at things the wrong way when deciding which company to align themselves with. Bryan goes on to share what he learned from his rookie experience and what he would have done differently in those first two years.
The men share that to be successful in this business long-term you must have a solid plan for earning Realtor business. Anthony recalls when Dave Jenks told him that, if you’re a realtor, you need to have a good lender. You need a partner that is going to help you market and generate business. This is important for loan originators and realtors alike. Your database is the most important tool you have in your business.
The men go on to discuss what accountability looks like in coaching. Anthony shares that you don’t really know what you want if your intimidated by accountability. And how, if you focus on activities, you will never have to focus on income again. Bryan shares what John Maxwell said about money – that it does two things – it gives you options or allow you to help other people.
Lastly, Anthony talks about taking the time to be grateful. And poses the question, “Do you take a daily account for what you are grateful for?” Sometimes our wins in a week or month are the steps we are taking to hit our overall goals. We tend to focus on the things that didn’t work out, rather than those that did. We should remember to celebrate our wins, even the seemingly small ones. Every win is a step in the right direction.
