In this week’s podcast John and Bryan sit down with VanDyk Mortgage’s Senior Vice President of Sales, Loralynne Ball. With a long history, Loralynne understands the business from both the Operations and Sales side with her unique perspective.
Loralynne talks about her early days in the industry as a Loan Originator and share tips and tricks on how she built her origination business as a young Loan Officer. She expresses the importance of performing a good application upfront; and that garbage in = garbage out.
She also shares secrets on how she was able to create a large volume business as an LO without much leverage. One of her secrets being, each week she would commit to working a ‘late’ day, staying in the office until 10 or 11pm.
John digs deep with Loralynne on navigating the friendzone with referral partners, while Bryan asks her what taking a good 1003 looks like.
Loralynne goes on to share how she adapted to the needs of each of her referral partners – which is an old school tip that can be leveraged with technology today. She also expresses how she wishes she would’ve had guidance from a coach which would have allowed her to act more purposeful with her business in her early days.
Lastly, the group shares some simple tips for rookie Loan Originators and strategies that they can use in their first two years to rapidly grow their business!
