Marine Layer Wines represents the culmination of visionary Baron Ziegler's lifelong aspiration. After years of collaborating with his friend and esteemed winemaker, Rob Fischer, at Banshee Wines, Baron recognized that Rob possessed the ideal qualities to transform his dream into a tangible reality. Together, they embarked on a shared mission to establish a brand that would focus exclusively on the Sonoma Coast, sourcing grapes solely from the region's most exceptional vineyards.
The name "Marine Layer" pays homage to the dense fog that gracefully envelops the Sonoma Coast, originating from the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean. Renowned for its cooler temperatures and challenging conditions, this region presents an arduous yet immensely rewarding environment for grape cultivation. The extended ripening period afforded to the grapes results in a symphony of nuanced flavors, vibrant acidity, and impeccable balance.
