Have you ever wondered where the Amber Alert originated from?
On January 13th, 1996 in Arlington TX, 9-year old Amber Hagerman was abducted while riding her pink bicycle in the parking lot of an abandoned Winn-Dixie grocery store. Her abduction was witnessed by an elderly man, who saw Amber being taken off of her bike and thrown into a black pick-up truck. Four days later, a man walking his dog found Amber's body near a creek, about four miles from the parking lot she was last seen. Amber's murder remains unsolved for 26 years.
Amber's death created the Amber Alert.
