The Report of the Guard
Matthew 28:11-15
“Some of the watch” Verse 11 Not all of the watch went to the religious leaders of the Jews to report what had happened. While “some” went to do the reporting, the others fled from the area. The trauma at the tomb had destroyed military discipline among the guards. They all forsake their post, a very grave failure in military conduct.
