Whose Son Is the Christ?
Matthew 22:41-46 (KJV)
"Whose son is the Christ, the Messiah?" the Pharisees responded, "The Son of David." Jesus immediately quoted a passage in which David himself acknowledged the Messiah as Lord (Psa 110:1). Then Jesus asked, "If David calls Him 'Lord,' how is He his Son?" We should note that Jesus said David made this statement "in the Spirit" (Mat 22:43), a direct reference to the Spirit's inspiration of the psalmist in writing.
