Parker's Notes-- Texas A&M This roster has only 11 seniors on it… the future is very bright for this team… and as of right now… they have the best recruiting class is college football history coming in next year. Last year A&M was so bad in the air… this year we should see them air it out a little more. When looking at the D-Line… they lost them all. But they brought it so many recruits and transfers. On average… every guy on this defense is a top 100 recruit…. all of them. I will say the secondary is loaded and ready to go… when you consider starters and backups it might be the best in the country at this position. Last year I liked LSU… they lost their QB before the season started and it didn’t stop there… they were outside the top 130 of the amount of starters injured. They brought in a lot of transfers all over the board. The man I thought would start last year… I think will start this year… Miles Brennan… but maybe it’s Arizona State transfer Jayden Daniels. As far as defensively … last year LSU pressured the QB more than any other team in the SEC. Look for that to continue with their defensive ends. Matt House is the new defensive coordinator.. he helped turn around the Kansas City Chiefs defense and the Kentucky Wildcats. I think in year one under this new coaching staff… you’ll see this defense improve. Alabama The numbers would show Alabama wins the National Championship about every other year… and they didn’t win last year. Alabama has been ranked #1 at some point during the season every year since 2008. They have a new O-line coach after giving up 9 more sacks that any Alabama Nick Saban team has coached. Will Anderson… recorded a pressure or a stop on almost 20% of snaps. With a year with massive QBs going into the draft… this guy has the potential to be the number 1 pick. Who is going to catch the ball for them? They lost all their top guys. I talk about Ohio State wideouts… but over the last 3 years. I think this year it’s Jermaine Burton (Georgia Transfer).. Tyler Harrell (Louisville transfer)… either way… they’re all crazy fast. Ole Miss Coaches voted Ole Miss in the top 25… even if they did lose everyone. That’s a testament to Lane Kiffin… and they may have it the transfer portal harder than anyone. The only one to hit it harder might be Lincoln Riley at USC. Either way the O-Line has 4 starters coming back…. and the guy not coming back… Lane has a 4-star transfer filling that guys shoes. Luke Altmyer looks to be the starter for Lane Kiffin to me… but it doensnt really matter. Neither QB going for the starting job is going to be Matt Corral. Miss State Transfer portal is hard to gauge exactly how good this team will be. And we all talk about Mike Leach’s high flying offense… guess what fellas… he only cracked 500 yards of offense one time.. and that was against the juggernaut on West End, in Vandy. While this offense passes it a ton they don’t tend to go downfield… last year they were 4th in the nation in total yards… but dead last in yards per completion. The other key in tight games… is special teams. Last year the Bulldogs went 14-25 on field goal attempts. So they brought in the big dog from Coastal Carolina. Massimo Biscardi, Jr… where he’s gone 46 of 57 in 4 years. Arkansas The offensive coordinator.. Kendal Briles… is the reason KJ Jefferson is succeeding… The defense lost people too… defensive Tackle… defensive end… linebackers. But like the offense… the defense plays well largely because of the defensive coordinator Barry Odom’s scheme. Auburn- This team is going to be bad. They don’t have a quarterback. Bryan Harsin is going to lose his job… probably in season. I’m surprised he didn’t lose his job this off-season with his off the field issues. The best part of this offense is Tank Bigsby at running back.
