Food allergies affect six million children in the U.S., or about two kids in every classroom. Prompting warning labels about peanuts, tree nuts, sesame and more on packaged foods and restaurant menus. It’s great that awareness is growing – but so is the problem. Food allergies increased by 50% between 2007 and 2021, according to the Centers for Disease Control. Why are food allergies exploding in kids today, and what can we do about it?
