Description

We all need an Aunt Babs in our lives—someone who truly sees us and meets us where we are.

My aunt, Babs Adamski, did that for me as a child—and more than forty years later, she’s still doing it now. I consider myself lucky to have her as both a family member and a friend—and as one of my earliest examples of what community building and leadership look like.

In this conversation, we touch on our shared history; caring for children as an auntie, babysitter, and friend; writing through chronic pain; one of our guiding favorite questions (“Is this a problem or a situation?”); and more.
