Revival is marked by new life where at first there was death. It is what happens each and every time a sinner turns in repentance to God: God's Spirit breathes new life into a soul dead in sin. Sometimes this happens on a larger scale, with hundreds or even thousands of sinners saved in a short space of time. Jonah 3 shows us some of the marks of real revival, and in particular, the central role that God's preached Word plays in it.
