In 1973, Joyce McKinney seemed to have everything going for her. She won the Miss World Pageant while representing Wyoming and earned her Master's degree in Theatre at Brigham Young University in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she met the love of her life, Kirk Anderson. It's too bad, though, that Kirk did not feel the same way about her.
After the couple broke up, Kirk went on about his life with the Mormon church and eventually made his way over to England to serve as a missionary. Joyce followed him there. What happened next is he said/she said - one party stood behind their faith and the other stood behind the "greatest love story ever told...to the tabloids!
