"Because sound works through vibration, through the displacement of air and the resonance of surfaces, I believe it’s a medium uniquely suited to help us learn from environments (both “natural” and “manmade”), from the objects that surround us, and from the inner workings of our own bodies. Sound illuminates what is alive and responsive in all things. These works were selected for the way they use sound to show us the interconnectedness and shared life of people, places, and things."
