Follow-up after EVAR is a topic of discussion worldwide.
In this episode, Laurence Bertrand and Suzanne Stokmans summarise an Editor's Choice article from the European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (EJVES) on this topic: Meta-Analysis of Compliance with Endovascular Aneurysm Repair Surveillance: The EVAR Surveillance Paradox by Antoniou and colleagues.
This systematic review compared survival in EVAR surveillance-compliant patients with non-compliant patients. Non-compliance was defined as failure to attend at least one post-EVAR follow-up.
The findings in this article question the value of intense surveillance in all patients post-EVAR. We are curious about your opinion on EVAR surveillance, so please feel free to let us know via email or by commenting!
