On June 14, 2025 a man dressed a police officer drove his fake police cruiser north minneapolis night and murdered Minnesota DFL (Democrat, Farmer, and Laborers Party) House Speaker Melissa and her husband Mark Hortman and attempted the murder of State Senator John and his wife Yvette Hoffman. Vance Boelter was arrested 3 days later and is the suspect.
