Description

Schulz has over 20 years in the fire service, beginning his journey with the volunteer service in Southern Maryland. He currently services as a Lieutenant on Howard County Fire & Rescue's Special Operations Tower 10. He has been a part of many FEMA deployments throughout the Nation and served as a principal officer on the Union Executive Board.

On today's episode, we discuss his origins in the fire service and unpack two challenging fires, one where he helped rescue trapped two civilians during an apartment fire and a near-miss during a partial house collapse during a single family house fire.

We discuss the effects of losing his shift mate, Lt. Nathan Flynn (LODD 07/23/2018). We round out the conversation discussing leadership, shift dynamics, and taking care of your people and the profession.
