May Vutrapongvatana is a first-generation Thai-American, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She is the producer and host of Rooftop Conversations, a show on YouTube that highlights the accomplishments and careers of people she knows. Rooftop Conversations interviews folks, mostly BIPOC, from different areas and industries such as law, organizing, sports, the arts, and STEM. Rooftop Conversations started during the COVID-19 quarantine as a way for May to interview those within her community and to share those conversations with the world. Outside of Rooftop Conversations, May is a licensed New York State attorney who is pursuing a legal career in policy specifically working towards social justice-based policies and she boxes as her form of workout and movement.
