"No one cares what you know, until they know that you care."
Before we confront or rebuke sin in others, it is important we assure them of our love for them.
That's what Paul did. He shared his heart to the Corinthians in 3 areas:
His Concern
He was not convincing them to make himself look good. He was concerned for their spiritual well-being. He appealed to them that they will not receive God's grace in vain, but will live upright, self-controlled and godly lives. He was all for them, like a parent would for his or her children.
His Conduct
He shared his "credentials" as a servant of God. His perseverance, piety, power & paradoxes are rock solid evidences that rubbish claims he is a fake or a charlatan. There is simply no basis to rejecting Paul as the man of God.
His Confession
Paul made it abundantly clear that he loves the Corinthians, in spite of how they had despised or rejected him. He calls them to reciprocate his love.
What a shepherd Paul was!
