No man can draw near to God on his own.
We are so sinful that we can't.
God has ordained that we need a mediator.
The Levitical priesthood teaches the qualifications of that mediator for us all- he must be called, clothed & consecrated.
And Jesus absolutely fits the bill! He is called, clothed & consecrated to be our Great High Priest.
In fact, He is the superior priest after the order of Melchizedek.
He alone is the only one who can lead us back to God.
Besides that, He has also made us all a royal priesthood, to serve God and to serve a needy world.
