This episode we dive into what it means to be a servant leader and the qualities that people who exhibit servant leadership usually have with my guest Brandon Forman. Brandon is a library professional who has been working in the libraries for 20 years and has a masters in library and information science.
The term "servant leadership" was coined by Robert Greenleaf, a twentieth-century researcher who was skeptical about traditional leadership styles that focus on more authoritarian relationships between employers and employees.
Greenleaf put forward 10 principles of servant leadership: listening; empathy; healing; awareness; persuasion; conceptualization; foresight; stewardship; commitment to the growth of people; and building community.
All ideas and viewpoints presented should be taken as opinion.
