Description

iListen kicks off Season 2 of the Happily Ever Understood Podcast with an important conversation on Truth & Reconciliation. Thank you to Myra GoodEagle for the idea of addressing this topic from both non-indigenous and indigenous perspectives. As an indigenous knowledge keeper, Myra believes it is crucial to foster understanding and by providing a platform for diverse voices and perspectives, iListen hopes to contribute to the broader conversation on Truth and reconciliation and inspire positive change.

Engaging in open and respectful dialogue can help bridge gaps and lead to meaningful progress. Guests Sheri Easterbrook and Allan Koski agree that the vital steps to truth and reconciliation are to strengthen connections between communities and encourage learning about the history and culture of Indigenous people.

Allan Koski is a treaty band member of Sucker Creek First Nation near Enilda, Alberta. Allan has embraced the traditional and ceremonial path and lives with expressed traditional values of respect, generosity and kindness.

Sheri Easterbrook is a child development specialist with expertise in trauma, dedicated to crafting child-centred disaster management plans. Her extensive experience working with vulnerable families over the years serves as a valuable foundation for her professional practice.

Both guests' detailed biographies can be found at the end of the video podcast on The iListen Experience YouTube channel (@ilistencanada)
