What do you do when there seems to be no way forward? Quite often, we're tempted to go back to what we used to do. The disciples return to Galilee and begin fishing again. But Jesus is not finished with them. Have you ever felt that God was done with you -- that you had failed in some unforgivable way? We can learn through Peter even our worst failures cannot separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus!

For Reflection:
Peter needs to hear and see, once again, that he still matters to Jesus.
- Have you ever felt spiritually disqualified or that God was disappointed or even disgusted with you? How long and in how many ways did you need to experience God's gracious affirmation to feel restored? Or are you still waiting?
- Quite often, there is a large gap of time between realizing who Jesus is and realizing who we are in Christ. What do you understand about your identity in Christ and how have you come to understand?
