Who are your people? This question was central for the church in Rome and for Paul's entire ministry! Which matters more -- physical lineage from Israel or the offer of grace extended to all people? As difficult as it might be to accept, God had long declared that God's people would be a collection of those who responded to the promises of God in faith. Whatever might seek to divide us, God calls us to be united by the love of God in Jesus Christ!

It's common for the Bible to talk about our common identity, our group identity, but that group is made up of people who have individually responded to God's promises.
- How has faith in Jesus changed how you love people who also follow Jesus and those who do not?
- What are some of the associations in the world (politics, race, sexual ethics, social class, age, culture, etc.) that you see challenging unity in the local and global church? Which do you find most challenging?
