This chapter is one of the rare insights we have into how Jesus prayed. That insight is also an invitation for us to join Jesus and make his prayer our own. Like Jesus, we can bring glory to God by completing the work that God gives us to do and also to give others a clearer picture of God by how we live and love. Jesus gave glory to God in these ways and we can play our part as well!

Jesus' prayer is an invitation to pray and live like Jesus!
- Jesus prayed for glory so that he might glorify God all the more. And one of the ways he glorified God was to complete the work that God gave him to do (v4). What is your understanding of the work that God has given you to do? What is the part that you believe God has given you to play?
- Another way that Jesus glorified God was to reveal God to those God had given him to love (v6). Who has God given you to love? How might you give them a clearer picture of God by how you live and love?
