Many did not believe. Some did believe but remained hidden for fear of what others might think. Jesus addresses them all by reminding them that he is the light sent into the world to lead people out of darkness. They must choose. Will they remain in darkness? Or will they trust Jesus enough to lead them to light and life? That choice is ours as well.

Jesus offered the crowd (and us) a choice -- we can remain as we are, without hope, or we can follow him from darkness into the light.
- What is one way you have experience Jesus and his teachings leading you into better places? What helped you to trust Jesus enough to follow him in that way?
- Spend a moment in thoughtful prayer and ask whether there is some way in which Jesus might be inviting you to trust him enough to take another step of faith today.
