Mary Magdalene returns to the tomb on Sunday morning and find it empty. She rushes to inform Peter and John, who run to the tomb to find it empty, just as Mary had said. It was only then that John finally believed. John had followed Jesus all along but it wasn't until that moment that he finally understood. What did John finally understand, and what are we to take away as well?

For Reflection:
Entering into the empty tomb, John finally believed what Jesus had said.
- Imagine being with John as he entered the tomb. What details would have caught your eye? What questions might you have had at that moment?
- John could have believed the many times when Jesus said that he must rise from the dead. John could have believed later when seeing Jesus alive, like many of the other disciples. What do you imagine it was about the empty tomb that allowed John to believe at that moment?
