Jesus is deeply troubled by the dark path ahead. This path comes to a fork and he must choose. One path is to pray, "Father, save me from this hour" (v27), that is, do not let me suffer. The other path is to pray, "Father, bring glory to your name!" (v28), even if it means suffering. Jesus chooses the second path and invites us to follow him.

For Reflection:
Jesus invites us to pray with him, "Father, bring glory to your name!"
- "Glory" refers to weight, gravity, substance, and reality. Think back to a time when you experienced God's glory. What happened? How did it affect you?
- "Name" refers to a person's reputation and the deepest essence of what makes them who they are. When have you experienced someone (including you) bringing glory to God's name? How might your life and your choices bring glory to God's name even now?
