Today you will meet the lovely Sammy Roccisano (and hear me fumble on her surname 2 seconds in lol). She is sunshine in human form and from meeting her you would never have imagined that, not so long ago, she was at a point in her life that saw her have to live back with her parents as she was unable to take care of herself. 2020 saw Sammy working hard in a job that she loved, planning a wedding (and dealing with covid postponements) and renovating a house. With no appetite and close to no sleep she was diagnosed with burn out in May 2021,
Being "burnt out" is a term that many of us throw around with nonchalance but burn out is a very real psychological syndrome that emerges as a prolonged response to chronic stress on the job. Interestingly, a new report found that 62 per cent of Australian employees were experiencing burnout, compared with a global average of 48 per cent.
Prior to meeting Sammy and recording this ep, I didn't really think of burn out in this light and am hoping that you too may learn a little bit more about it. Take her advice and be mindful of your symptoms and reach out for help when you need it. You don't have to go through these things on your own. Furthermore, keep watch on your work mates!
Please enjoy this one! Be sure to look up her business page because as we discussed a small portion of her profits go towards Breakthrough Foundation!
