Dennis and Joe, friends and founders of Initial Ascent Backpacks met in church. Neither one of them worked in product design or engineering. They did not work in the hunting industry and they were not born and raised out west, but somehow they designed one of the most innovative and best performing backcountry pack and frame systems on the market; known for its ability to handle massive loads.
I got a chance to meet Joe and Dennis at the Western Hunting Expo and to try one of their revolutionary pack frames and I was extremely impressed with them, their company culture, and their product. In this episode we talk about their origin story, how faith plays a role in their entrepreneurial journey and a bunch more.
I am excited to be doing some work with Initial Ascent this season. I will be using one of their packs on my upcoming spring bear hunt and I'll be doing a full review of the pack down the road, be on the lookout for that.
