On this episode of I Love My HBCU, Hunter Waldon of Prairie View A & M University, engages in a sensational conversation about the next generation and how much leadership does matter. Hunter exemplifies the importance of building a network and speaking up in spaces you find yourself in.
Black students are important in every space, and he challenges those like him to make their presence felt. “We must get involved in politics and civic engagement, for example, because others will continue to make decisions that affect us and if we’re not careful those decisions may work against us.” Although he is the outgoing lead ambassador of PVAM, he challenges students to lead in every way that feels natural to them, with and without a position or title.
It’s not enough that people should know you, “people should know why you matter,” shares Hunter. Tune in to hear Hunter’s insights on how to represent yourself, building your network, and having your value felt. *All opinions expressed by guests do not reflect the views of all entities of "I Love My HBCU?"
