Description

She Quit Performing for White Spaces—and Found Herself.

For anyone who's ever needed permission to be fully themselves, this episode is a breath of fresh air. It’s for every HBCU student and alum carving their own path in style—dressing the part and building the plane mid-flight. 😉

This week on I Love My HBCU?, we’re joined by Jeskell “Skell” Creecy, a proud Winston-Salem State alumna, physical therapist, fashion enthusiast, and founder of HBCU Fit Check. From her NYC healthcare hustle to her dream of an all-Black production tour, Skell breaks down what it means to find your tribe, throw away respectability politics, and thrive where you’re understood.

From healing bodies to reshaping Black representation in fashion and healthcare, Skell opens up about her love for the Black experience, why she says “respectability politics hold us back,” and how being around your tribe can be the most powerful kind of medicine.

Skell says HBCUs are spaces for breathing, healing, and becoming. This episode is for every HBCU student and alum who builds the plane as it flies, and does it in style.
