Mayor Scott is a proud alumnus of St. Mary’s College of Maryland who is a mayor of a city that is home to two HBCUs (Coppin and Morgan) and the pride he has in what those HBCUs offer is palpable.
One of the youngest mayors in the U.S., Mayor Scott is reverent to the communities that made him, but there is also a very self driven quality that is all him: confidence. A skill he challenges and encourages college students to adopt; that is, a mindset that you’re good enough to do anything you put your mind to.
