Arguably before anything else, the first thing people notice about you is your style. Step on to an HBCU college campus and there is an explosion of style. On this episode of I Love My HBCU?, SUNO’s proud alumna Shirah Ray joins us for a conversation that challenges women to power their style beyond the pieces you choose. Entrepreneur Fashion Stylist and owner of David Lee’s Boutique, her style tips for Black women in college includes being honest with yourself about what makes you feel comfortable and not being afraid to change things up and explore.
Shirah’s journey has been unique. Taking the non-traditional path to matriculate through college, she encourages students to come to college with a game plan. Plans don’t always work though; sometimes you aren’t ready and it’s okay to take a little time to figure things out.
Shirah Ray’s episode is streaming on Youtube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music. *All opinions expressed by guests do not reflect the views of all entities of "I Love My HBCU?"
