So this is a big epic bloody samurai action epic directed by Akira Kurosawa and it was the first Kurosawa movie I ever saw which is like insane because he's considered to be one of the greatest directors and NOT ONCE did I watch any of his films in high school or college or my 20s, 30s, and 40s and just kidding I'm not that old haha I'm so stupid funny but no RAN is based on Shakespeare's King Lear but takes place in 16th century Japan and I didn't totally follow everything that goes on because there are quite handful of characters but that didn't even matter because the visual scope of this movie is simply totally badass and awesome and coooooool and the colors and the fake blood that looks like red paint and the costumes and the emperor and the music and the arrows and the...and the....I can't!
