Viewed larger-than-life, in Technicolor
When the Good Witch—what was her name?
Glinda, Gwendolyn, Gretchen, someone!
Floated down from the sky in the nick of time.
Burst out from a bubble. Dressed up in brilliance.
And brandishing her wand.
Vs
Like I said, she was Glinda, Gwendolyn, Gretchen, someone…
The bad-assed Good Witch down from the north;
Came to warn Dorothy, wizard’s not all he seemed;
Been working illusions using mirrors and steam.
Throwing levers, rolling knobs, incognito behind a curtain.
Yet Glinda claims there’s another way back to Kansas again!

Glinda, Gwendolyn, Gretchen, someone…
Says to Dorothy: “You have the way home right there with you!”
“Those ruby shoes on your feet and in plain view.”
“Click them 3 times, hold Toto, and know that there’s no place like home!”
“You won’t need a wizard if you use this method…”
“Three times in total, hold Toto, hold the thought: ‘There’s no place like home!’”
Vs
Gwendolyn quelled a spell of lethargy
Cast upon some running through a crop of poppies.
They had been sent on a wild-goose chase;
A futile questfor Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin and Lion
Then: “Trapped like rats! “How about a little fire.”
“I’m melting!” “Hail Dorothy!”
Vs
Meanwhile, in a mirrored realm, some other time
Another Glinda, Gwendolyn, Gretchen, someone…
Finds herself in a similar circumstance:
Being, herself, near kidnapped
By a gang of flying monkeys (more or less)
Who also crosses paths with a psycho wizard!
Ch
Glinda, Gwendolyn, Gretchen, someone…
Says to Dorothy: “You have the way home right there with you!”

Proved each of their wizards, as fakers, as liars
Both planned to make their escapes in a balloon for hire.
While ruling, hadn’t known what they’d been doing
And while leaving the city both were heard saying:
“How do you fly this thing!?”

The lesson for Dorothy (and us) is: follow some simple instructions
And Gretchen, the Good Witch will lead us all back to Kansas
(Or is it Michigan?) Again!
