Episode 10: Waking up in the Universe

The 1st time I saw her, it was on the news I was repulsed
Being his niece, she visually resembles him,
So much so, I couldn’t look at her face w/o seeing his.
My conditioned reflex wanted me to role them into one…
Make them interchangeable, one and the same.
After hearing her speak a transformation began to emerge!

The morph wasn’t occurring in her face, though.
The mutation was happening in me (my perception) as
Her words, her ideas ably displayed the beautiful soul in her face.
The next time I caught the Donald on a magazine or TV.
The face they have in common seemed to favor her bright soul, now

And a forgiveness gleam has been seeded inside of me.
As God’s words are making more & more sense these days.

And Jesus comes to roost, most mornings now
On the post outside the front door of my heart
And He’s tapping, (softly at first)
And it seems like He wants in.
And it seems like He wants in.

The ship of love has forgiveness as its bow,
With forgetfulness at the stern.
It will cut through icy waters of conditionals and fears
And take on all challenges, battlements of standoffishness and hate.
Capable of waylaying any & all restrictors;
With a stout hand to the steerage
We, together pilot her on a steady heading
Onward into non-resistance…She keeps us plodding along.

We wake up every morning
Swing our legs over the edge of our sleep berths.
Right there at our bedsides: today’s our starting place in the universe,
While perching there—just this side of heaven—
We allow never-ending possibilities to break upon the shores of our souls
When readied for re-embarking—
We engage again on our journeys towards infinity.
