In 2004, James Wan and Leigh Whannell unleashed the small indie-horror film 'SAW' into cinemas – and boy, did it go down well. Grossing over $100 million at the box office, the film generated sequel after sequel – taking over Halloween and becoming one of the most profitable horror franchises ever. The first film is still my favourite, and one of my all-time favourite releases.
