'The Ritual' was released back in 2017 and was one of the MANY films I frustratingly missed from that year. Based on the novel of the same name, the film centres around 4 friends hiking through Scandinavian woods, where terrifying things start to unfold. The vision from director David Bruckner is excellent, and you can tell he has seen enough horror/thriller films to know how to pay homage, but also, do things differently. Leading the cast is Rafe Spall who puts out a top performance along with a believable friendship group as they battle their way through this nightmare. Catch full thoughts in this episode
