On this week's edition of Speaking of Social Justice, Dr Michael Walker walks us through NSW's current challenges when it comes to public housing and how it might be Australia's biggest issue alongside the cost of living. Michael discusses how those with mortgages spend more than half of their disposable income on housing, how a significant proportion of the general public will never be able to buy into the market, and how we, as a nation, need to start looking at a second stream option. Michael then challenges our perception of public housing with mention to Singapore and how 78% of residents are in public housing.
It is time to look again at public housing.
