Nat and Kevin are honored to be joined by the incredible Rick Castro to discuss his work and legacy for creating queer and kinky visual art. Over the past few decades, Castro’s photography has been shown in a number of exhibitions, books, magazines, etc. In 2004, he published 13 Years of Bondage: The Photography of Rick Castro, which depicts leather-clad street hustlers in bondage. He also wrote and directed Hustler White (1996) with Bruce LaBruce, and directed a number of other short films and documentaries, including MTV’s Plushies & Furries (2001). His work is collected by the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction, ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives at the USC Libraries, Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art, and the Tom of Finland Foundation.
