Description

In this honest and empowering conversation, I sit down with Nicola Moburg, founder of Puna Yoga in Helsinki and certified yoga teacher trainer, to discuss perimenopause – the transition that so many of us fear but few truly understand.

Nicola shares her personal journey through perimenopause, including the symptoms that started at 45 (hint: they weren't what she expected), how her decades of yoga practice prepared her body for this transition, and why she feels better at 50 than she did in her forties.

In this episode, we discuss:

✨ Perimenopause symptoms beyond hot flashes (brain fog, heart palpitations, nervous system changes, identity shifts)

✨ Why doctors often miss early perimenopause signs

✨ How yoga – especially inversions and cycle-based practice – supports hormonal balance

✨ Natural approaches to managing symptoms (wild yam cream, chasteberry, shilajit)

✨ The importance of understanding your menstrual cycle at any age

✨ How to adapt your yoga practice according to your hormonal phases

✨ Why preparation matters more than you think

✨ Reframing perimenopause as an empowering transition rather than something to fear

Whether you're in your 30s and want to prepare, in your 40s and noticing changes, or beyond and looking for support – this conversation offers practical wisdom and a refreshing perspective on this natural life transition.
