Governor Gordon strongly believes that Wyoming must chart its own course and is a steadfast defender of the state’s interests. As a conservative leader, he has worked tirelessly to set Wyoming on a sustainable fiscal path. He is dedicated to making government more accessible, transparent, and efficient, emphasizing that government is best when it is closest to its people. Governor Gordon is committed to equipping local communities with the tools they need to thrive. Before becoming governor, Gordon served as Wyoming’s State Treasurer from 2012 to 2019. During his tenure, he was recognized as one of the top 100 most significant and impactful public investor executives by the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute. During his first term as governor, he successfully led Wyoming through historically challenging times and was consistently ranked among the top ten governors in the country. He has served as Chair of the Western Governors Association and has spearheaded efforts to diversify Wyoming’s economy, promoting growth in sectors such as technology, finance, agriculture, energy, research, and tourism. Governor Gordon is a strong advocate for quality education. A rancher, mountaineer, and entrepreneur, he brings extensive experience in resource management, business development, and family life to his role as governor.
